Personal trainers are a great source of information. They have the knowledge to help you get to your dream body so long as you are willing to put the work in.
But there is a bit of a problem with Personal Trainers. How many personal trainers do you know that look the part? That have the muscle definition like a fitness magazine model? Well, I have been to a few gyms in my 5 years of working out and unfortunately I have only seen maybe 1 out of every 20 that look similar to model material.
Personal Trainers vs. Bodybuilders
Personal trainers are better for training the general public to lose weight and tone up. However if you are looking for a much more defined look and gigantic muscles, you need to seek the advice of a bodybuilder.
Bodybuilders are experts when it comes to losing weight, gaining weight, gaining muscle and so on. They know all the exercises to get you ripped quickly.
There’s a reason behind this; bodybuilders dedicate their livelihood to improving their body and getting that look they have wanted for many years and they know the most efficient ways of doing it.
You should choose a personal trainer if you are looking for a relatively quick fix, or if you have absolutely no idea what you are doing.
If you have some sort of body injury like myself, they can teach you the best ways to improve that injury with forms of exercise that won’t end up damaging the injury even more (…for the most part – always consult your doctor first).
They know the science behind the scenes. They can tell you exactly how your body reacts to thing, if you’re interested that is.
Bodybuilders have enough general knowledge about their bodies to make the best improvements for their bodies. In fact, one may even go as far as saying they know too much about their bodies. They are finely tuned machines!
Their wealth of knowledge can be used across many individuals, but what works for them may not work for you. You may have to speak to a few different people to get the best information for you – but play around with different ideas!
What should you look for in a Personal Trainer?
Well this one is beyond simple. You need to find somebody you trust to give you the right information. You should find somebody you can easily talk to.
But the main things you should look for are on the surface level. What do they look like? do they look how you want to look or do they look skinny? Do they look like a bodybuilder? If they don’t look like they have your dream body, they probably don’t have the knowledge to get you to your dream body.
If they look like a bodybuilder, they are easily approachable then you are onto a winner! Don’t hesitate, thinking ‘well it might not work for me’. Go for it and get motivated enough to get that chiseled body you’ve always wanted.
