Cutting for 6-weeks – Week 1, Day 2

You may have noticed in my most recent blog post describing my typical workout routine; I have started a new routine to help me shed a few extra pounds and get shredded before the summer comes. I’d like to share a few initial thoughts after starting this regime.

Day 1 – A whole new world

Day one was definitely a shock to the system for me. I was welcomed to the world of Cardio Acceleration by a fury of screaming muscles, aches and pains, but an overwhelming satisfaction for completing the workout.

For those of you that haven’t heard of Cardio Acceleration, it is the use of cardio between resistance training sets. This holds your heart rate up, and can improve weight loss and hypertrophy. You can read more on this at the Bioneer website.

Day 2 – Opening up the doors to hell!

Yesterday, I honestly felt like I was going to collapse. I only managed to get through 6 of the 8 exercises planned. Needless to say, this plan is not for the faint-hearted. But, after going home and having some Dinner, I managed to summon the courage to go and finish the last 2 sets and go for a short swimming session.

Don’t cry to quit! You already in pain, you already hurt! Get a reward from it!

I think, although these workouts are hard, they definitely prove that I am tougher than I think. I often think back to a meme that I saw recently which holds the aforementioned quote. That same image displayed a man lay on the floor next to a barbell – I swore to myself that will never be me!

Weight

So this is a funny one. Since the start of the week I’ve put on weight, I’ve noticed it when I look in the mirror and to my astonishment, the 3-4lbs I had lost, I have now put right back on.

I’m hoping that my body is just retaining water for the time being until it figures out when and how much training I am actually doing. After all, it is early days!

There are hundreds if not thousands of reviews of the workout and the vast majority claim their weight loss / shred has been successful .

My current opinion

Although this is bloody hard work, I’m thoroughly enjoying the regime. I mean why wouldn’t I? Even though I’m exercising more intense, I get to eat more! I’m managing to stuff 2,500 kcal per day :D.

It’s now day 3. I’m not going to lie, I’m not looking forward to the workout itself. I think it is going to be even harder than yesterday’s session! However, I’m looking forward to the results when I’ve completed the course. More to come on this next Tuesday (12/04/2016), once I have completed week 1.
